Centre County added one new COVID-19 case on Friday, bringing its total to 198 since the first was reported on March 20.
According to the Pennsylvania Department of Health, a total of 3,944 people in Centre County have tested negative for the virus, an increase of 73 since Thursday.
In the past two weeks, the county has added 33 COVID-19 cases.
Statewide, 600 new positives were reported on Friday, increasing Pennsylvania’s total to 84,370. A total of 634,711 patients have tested negative.
An estimated 78 percent of all COVID-19 patients in Pennsylvania — or about 65,809 — have recovered.
The health department also reported 22 new deaths attributed to the virus across the state, bringing Pennsylvania’s total to 6,579. Centre County has had six COVID-19 deaths, the most recent on May 27.
Throughout the state, 675 COVID-19 patients are hospitalized, with 126 requiring use of a ventilator as of noon on Friday.
Among the state’s total cases, 81,956 are confirmed and 2,414 are probable. In Centre County, 184 are confirmed and 14 are probable.

16865 (Pennsylvania Furnace), 16828 (Centre Hall), 16829 (Clarence), 16866 (Philipsburg), 16844 (Julian), 16875 (Spring Mills), 16852 (Madisonburg), 16872 (Rebersburg), 16845 (Karthaus) each have 1-4 confirmed cases. Specific numbers are not provided for zip codes with fewer than five cases.
Nursing home cases in Centre County remained unchanged, with 23 among residents and 14 among staff at two facilities.
Among Centre County’s bordering counties, Huntingdon now has 245 total cases (+3), Union has 90 (+1), Clinton has 75 (+1), Clearfield has 72 (+1), Blair has 69 and Mifflin has 62 (+1).
