Centre County Reports No New COVID-19 Cases

Centre County reported no new COVID-19 cases for the second consecutive day on Tuesday.

The county’s total number of cases since the first was reported on March 20 remained at 201. In the past two weeks the county has added 24 new cases.

A total of 4,220 people in Centre County have tested negative for the virus, an increase of 71 since Monday.

Statewide, the Pennsylvania Department of Health reported 618 new positives on Tuesday, bringing the commonwealth’s total to 86,606. A total of 677,581 patients have tested negative.

An estimated 78 percent of all COVID-19 patients in Pennsylvania — or about 67,553 — have recovered, according to DOH.

The health department also reported 35 new deaths attributed to the virus statewide, bringing Pennsylvania’s total to 6,649.

Across the state, 642 COVID-19 patients are hospitalized, with 104 requiring use of a ventilator as of noon on Tuesday.

Among the state’s total cases, 84,130 are confirmed and 2,476 are probable. In Centre County, 188 are confirmed and 13 are probable.
