Centre LifeLink EMS has received a $175,000 state grant to purchase a new ambulance, the organization said on Monday.
The funding from the Department of Community and Economic Development will be used toward the new vehicle, which has a total cost of more than $260,000. It will replace an ambulance that has been in service since 2009 and was remounted in 2016.
State Rep. Scott Conklin, D-Rush Township, helped secure the funding.
With seven ambulances in rotation and an emergency response average of 20 calls per day, Centre LifeLink needs to replaced one ambulance annually, according to a news release.
Centre LifeLink EMS is a nonprofit organization, that relies, in part, on donations and memberships, as well as state funding programs to make capital purchases.
