PennDOT is closing one lane of East College Avenue in downtown State College until a small sinkhole is repaired.
The right lane of College Avenue from McAllister Street to mid-block between South Pugh and South Allen streets will be closed beginning Wednesday morning.
The sinkhole formed along the side of the road near the College Avenue and Pugh Street intersection. The lane and parking spaces in the affected area will be closed until further notice, according to PennDOT.
An advisory from the borough said that PennDOT is expected to perform excavation and repair work between 7 a.m. and 5 p.m.
The closure will not impact the nearby bus stop.
