Earlier report, posted @ 6:32 p.m. March 28:

A Penn State student charged in a weekend assault case is accused of kicking two other men in the face, according to a criminal complaint.

The complaint confirms that Thomas Clark Gorman, 19, of East Patchogue, N.Y., is charged with aggravated assault, simple assault and harassment in the case. Gorman also is listed as a Penn State wrestler.

He was involved in a fight about 3 a.m. Saturday on the first floor of Hamilton Hall, on the University Park campus, witnesses and reported victims told police.

The reported victims — identified as one 18-year-old and one 21-year-old — told police that Gorman kicked them in the face, the criminal complaint shows. The teenager suffered lacerations and an eye contusion; the 21-year-old suffered ‘multiple blows to his left ocular cavity and was transported to Mount Nittany Medical Center,’ according to the complaint.

When police found the 21-year-old, the complaint says, he was unable to open one of his eyes.

Gorman later told police that he had been defending himself, according to the complaint. He was arraigned before District Judge Carmine Prestia and lodged Saturday in the Centre County Correctional Facility in lieu of posting $75,000 bail.

He remained in the correctional facility Monday evening, according to the jail’s database. Next in the court process is a preliminary hearing.

Efforts by OnwardState.com and StateCollege.com to reach Gorman have been unsuccessful thus far, and the university athletics department has yet to comment on the situation. Additional information will be posted as it becomes available.
