Counterfeit $1 and $5 bills appeared recently in the downtown State College area, borough police reported Sunday.
The falsified currency appears to have been used Thursday and Friday, according to a news release. Police said suspects have been identified.
Authorities asked anyone in receipt of counterfeit bills to notify the borough police as soon as possible. They have identified counterfeit $5 bills bearing these two serial numbers: FA66627438A and HG41865158A.
