A 20-mile stretch of Interstate 80 in Centre and Clinton counties was closed for several hours on Thursday after a multi-vehicle crash.
The crash happened at about 10:05 a.m. on I-80 westbound near mile 159 in Boggs Township, according to dispatch and PennDOT reports. Pleasant Gap and Bellefonte EMS and state police were among those dispatched to the scene.
The extent of any injuries was not yet clear.
Before reopening at around 3:30 p.m. Thursday afternoon, I-80 westbound was closed between exit 178 at Lock Haven and exit 158 at Milesburg as of 1 p.m. Traffic was at a standstill with vehicles backed up past exit 161 at Bellefonte during the closure.
