With the start of the school year and upcoming paving work, motorists should expect delays as work continues on Warner Boulevard near Boalsburg.

PennDOT is installing a temporary left turn lane from Warner Boulevard onto Brandywine Drive, to alleviate traffic entering Mount Nittany Middle School for morning drop off and afternoon pick up. Paving on the project is expected to take place after Labor Day and traffic delays expected.

Normal traffic patterns are expected to resume in mid-September. The lane restriction on Atherton Street/Boal Avenue will continue, but will be temporarily lifted for Penn State home football games.

The speed limit on Warner Boulevard is reduced to 35 miles per hour during the project. Because of the narrow road width, bicyclists and pedestrians must use the detour signed for bicycles. PennDOT strongly discourages moving through the construction zone on foot or on a bike.

The project, which is expected to be completed by mid-October, will rehabilitate the roadway and address bicycle and pedestrian needs. Work will include road restoration and improvements to the intersection at Mary Elizabeth Street and Brandywine Drive, as well as construction of an asphalt walkway and designated bike lane from South Atherton Street to Linden Hall Road.
