The State College Downtown Improvement District will once again host a seasonal celebration open to all with the 17th annual Downtown Fall Festival Saturday on the 200 block of South Allen Street.
From 10 a.m.-3 p.m. there will be activities for all ages. The day will include a bounce house, Tumble Bus, pony rides, climbing walls, alpacas, a pumpkin patch featuring free pumpkins for kids and more fun and games for everyone.
Visitors can also take part in the Happy Valley Dessert Contest. Registered participants can submit a homemade, fall-themed dessert with a chance to win a $50 Downtown State College gift card. Winners will be chosen in each of three age categories (Children 12 and under, teens aged 13-17 and adults 18 and up). Desserts and a registration form — available here — must be brought to the judging table in front of the State College Municipal Building between 10 and 11 a.m.
Judging for the dessert contest begins at 11 a.m. and the public can sample the entries starting at noon for $1 per serving. Winners will be announced at 1 p.m.
A community resources fair will be held in conjunction with the fest from 11 a.m.-2 p.m. at the Municipal Building.
