Gordon Lightfoot, regarded as one of Canada’s greatest singer-songwriters over the course of his 50 year career, will bring his U.S. tour to Eisenhower Auditorium this summer.

He will perform at 8 p.m. on June 16. Tickets are on sale now online, by phone (1-800-ARTS-TIX), or in person at Eisenhower, Bryce Jordan Center and Penn State Downtown Theatre Centre

Lightfoot began gaining international popularity and acclaim through the 1960s and 1970s with pop, folk and country hits such as ‘The Wreck of the Edmund Fitzgerald,’ ‘Sundown’ and ‘If You Could Read My Mind.’ A folk-rock legend and one of Canada’s most celebrated musicians, he was inducted into the Songwriters Hall of Fame in 2012.

‘An Evening with Gordon Lightfoot,’ will feature songs spanning his 20 studio albums, from hits to deep cuts, along with behind-the-scenes stories from his career.

Lightfoot’s songs have been recorded by musicians as varied as Bob Dylan, Johnny Cash, Elvis Presley, Barbara Streisand, Sarah McLachlan, Jane’s Addiction and Toby Keith.

Dylan has called Lightfoot a ‘mentor’ and famously once said, ‘I can’t think of any Gordon Lightfoot song I don’t like. Every time I hear a song of his, I wish it would last forever.”
