It turns out that Jerry Sandusky will not have his appeal heard in a high school auditorium. That hearing will instead take place at the Luzerne County Courthouse in Wilkes-Barre, PA.
Art Heinz, a spokesperson for the Pennsylvania Superior Court says, “Sandusky’s appeal was moved because of the perceived interest by the media and the public.”
The hearing will be held as scheduled on September 17th. The court will still hear a number of cases at the Dallas High School auditorium early in the day. At 3 p.m. the legal proceedings will move to the courthouse to accommodate what could be a large number of spectators.
Sandusky, 69, was convicted on 45 counts of child sex abuse last summer. The former Penn State football defensive coordinator is serving a 30-60 year sentence in a maximum-security prison.
