Judge Grants ABC’s Request to Use Victim 1 Photos from Sandusky Trial

Two months after ABC News aired its interview with Aaron Fisher, formerly known as Jerry Sandusky’s ‘Victim 1,’ Judge John Cleland granted the national broadcasting company the rights to use photos from trial. 

Cleland signed an order on Wednesday that granted ABC News the right to use any photos of Fisher used at trial that only feature him or him and Sandusky, according to the order. 

Cleland, however, ruled that his order does not serve as a precedent for any other person who, or entity which may want to use the photos. 

On Nov. 7, prosecutors from the Attorney General’s Office said they had no qualms regarding the photos requested by ABC News being released. 

ABC’s Chris Cuomo conducted the interview with Fisher, which aired on Oct. 19. Fisher’s book, “Silent No More: Victim 1’s Fight for Justice Against Jerry Sandusky” was published on Oct. 23. The photos were not used in the original interview as ABC News had not been granted permission at the time.

Sandusky, 68, was sentenced on Oct. 9 to 30-60 years in prison for his sex crimes against children. He was moved to SCI Greene, a maximum security prison, where he will serve out the duration of his sentence.
