Local advertising club [CP]2 recently honored excellence in advertising, design and marketing created in Central Pennsylvania during its fifth annual awards ceremony at 3 Dots Downtown in State College.

The group also announced Interfaith Human Services as this year’s Brand[Aid] recipient, an initiative that brings together dozens of professionals who are members of [CP]2 to update a local nonprofits branding and marketing for free.

IHS provides resources and guidance to low-income families in Centre County and helps them toward economic stability.

“We are excited to have been chosen by [CP]2 for Brand[Aid],” IHS Executive Director Wendy Vinhage said. “We have seen what this amazing team has done for other nonprofits so we cannot wait to work with them.”

This is the fourth time [CP]2 has offered the free rebranding. Members have previously worked with Housing Transitions, Taproot Kitchen and Mid-State Literacy Council  for updates including its logos, websites, messaging, marketing materials and fundraising strategy. The services take months of collaboration but center on a massive work session in June. This year’s session will take place on June 29 at 3 Dots Downtown, the new community artistic and innovation space where [CP]2 has become a resident organization.

Emceed by Jason Browne and James Tierney of Happy Valley Improv, the awards ceremony presented annual Bracket Awards to 15 local agencies, media outlets, businesses and nonprofits.

“Our fifth annual awards show celebrates the best of the best in our creative community,” [CP]2 board president Carol White said. “It’s a great opportunity for us to recognize and award the vibrant and talented professionals who do such fantastic work.”

Penn State University Press was awarded Best in Show for its graphic novel adaptation of Don Quixote of La Mancha. A Judges Award was presented to Penn State World Campus for its TV commercial.

Entries were judged by a third-party panel of six experts in New York City and those receiving the highest marks were selected for an award. [CP]2  received nearly 100 entries and presented 54 awards this year from local marketing and design professionals, including advertisements, publications, digital marketing, social media, branding, signage and video.
