The first baby born in 2026 at Mount Nittany Medical Center arrived on New Year’s Day, and it’s a boy!
Myles Peters was born early Thursday morning to parents Caleigh and Elliot Peters, of Snow Shoe, according to the College Township hospital.
Myles weighed in at 6 pounds, 8 ounces.
“Welcoming the New Year’s Baby is a long-standing tradition at Mount Nittany Health — our team is honored to be part of this milestone and extends their heartfelt congratulations to the Peters family,” the health system wrote in a news release.
It marks at least the fourth consecutive year that Mount Nittany’s New Year’s baby was a boy.
Mount Nittany Medical Center’s Joseph V. and Suzanne P. Paterno Women and Children’s Services Unit delivers more than 1,300 babies a year. The unit is the largest of its kind in the region, and has been named among “America’s Best Maternity Hospitals” by Newsweek for three years in a row.
