It is a cold, windy day in State College, but that is not stopping the music on the HUB-Robeson Center lawn. Penn State’s annual end-of-the-year music festival, Movin’ On, is bringing free music to the community. The first band played at 11:30 to a little more than 30 people. As the day went on students started to arrive to enjoy the free music.
Vendors are set up on the lawn to bring the true music festival feel, giving away free food, band merchandise and bags. The longest line of the day was at Chipotle, the Mexican restaurant that opened early Fall 2009, is giving away free tacos.
The bands on stage were continuously commenting on the weather as the crowd danced to the music to keep warm.
“I know everyone is going to see this all day,” lead singer of Skip Town Matty said. “But it is really cold outside!”
Everyone enjoyed the bands that were playing and were waiting for the headliners coming up tonight.
At 3 p.m. Mayday Parade had a meet and greet. Fans lined up around the Movin’ On tents to meet the band and get an autograph.
