StateCollege.com is pleased to announce the addition of Dan Nestlerode and Judy Loy to its team of writers.
The co-owners of Nestlerode & Loy Inc. will write a column on business and its local impact to be published every other Sunday beginning next week.
Nestlerode and Loy are two of the area’s best business minds; they have a combined 63 years of experience, all of it local.
They have a unique perspective on how national and international business issues can impact a small town in Central Pennsylvania, and they will offer that perspective in their twice-monthly column.
More important to the duo than their experience is their commitment to the community and clients. It’s a rare thing for a financial organization to put the clients’ needs ahead of the company’s, Nestlerode says, but it’s been working for them so far.
‘No bailouts since 1937,’ Loy says with a laugh.
Nestlerode, Loy’s mentor and ‘one of the most intelligent people I’ve ever met,’ has been working with the company his father founded since 1965.
‘He is visionary; he looks to the future,’ Loy says. He never takes things too seriously and is loyal to both his clients and employees, she says.
The sign of truly good management, Nestlerode is quick to point out, is the company you leave behind. And after Loy took the reins of the company two years ago, Nestlerode said he’s made a good decision.
Calling her ‘bright, studious, smart and committed,’ Nestlerode said Loy is rare in that she always honestly cares about doing the right thing for the client.
