Several theft and vandalism incidents were reported Wednesday in a several-block area of State College borough, municipal police said Thursday.
All apparently happened overnight from Tuesday into early Wednesday.
In one incident, reported at 1125 Old Boalsburg Road, a sword and scabbard, a small amount of cash and a Henry rifle made in 1860 were taken from a pickup truck, police said. The total loss there was valued at $1,600.
At nearby 1128 S. Atherton Street, someone tried to enter a home — unsuccessfully — through a ground-floor window about 6:45 a.m. Wednesday, according to a separate police report.
In the other incidents reported in the area:
- At 1118 S. Allen St., someone entered a Ford and stole an inexpensive pair of sunglasses, police said.
- At 1124 Old Boalsburg Road, several small items were reported taken from another parked car. (Details about those items were not immediately available Thursday afternoon.)
- At 1105 S. Allen St., someone ripped a car cover that was protecting a Jaguar vehicle, according to a police report. The damage there was valued at $200.
An investigation is ongoing.
