While less than a year old, the Nittany Valley Sports Centre has already made a major impact on youth sports in Centre County.
The 70,000-square-foot center, located off of Bernel Road in Patton Township, currently offers opportunities and indoor, climate-controlled facilities for soccer, lacrosse, baseball, field hockey and gymnastics, as well as a speed training lab.
With facilities unlike anything else in the area, it’s been a success as young athletes have jumped at the chance to use the center. Now with multiple grants in hand, Nittany Valley Sports Centre is ready for phase two, which will add 50,000 square feet, including hard courts for volleyball and basketball.
The expansion is expected to be completed by next September, and owner Michael Lee hopes the addition of court sports will add to the sports tourism the center is already drawing to Centre County.
