Pair Charged in High-Speed Chase

Two people have been charged with felony drug offenses after a high-speed chase last week led to an accident on N. Atherton St. and Colonnade Way.

Charges were filed against Stacy Henry, 37, of Mill Hall, and Alicia Gardner, 29, of Bellefonte, according to court documents.

Police say the two were wanted for trafficking large amounts of heroin in the area. Police got a tip and arranged a controlled buy with the pair. Police tried to stop Henry’s car in the Wal-Mart parking lot on N. Atherton St. Henry allegedly he hit the gas and led police on a short chase before flipping the car on its roof. The car landed in the parking lot of the the Penn State Federal Credit Union.

Both Henry and Gardner were treated for injuries.

Police said a search of the suspects’ car turned up 16 bags of heroin, a digital scale, a small amount of marijuana and $8,000 in cash.

Gardner is charged with one felony count with intent to deliver and two misdemeanor drug charges. Henry was hit with three felonies, three misdemeanors, and four summary charges, stemming from his attempts to elude officers on top of intent to deliver.

Henry is being held in the Centre County Correctional Facility after failing to post $100,000 bail. His preliminary hearing is set for May 15.
