Panera Bread’s new location is celebrating a grand opening today. General Manager, Cheri Gebhart, says there’s a lot of excitement, “people are excited to have us in the north end of town, they don’t have to deal with parking downtown.”
The sleek new dining spot is located at 1613 North Atherton St. It’s across the street from Best Buy, in a spot that used to house the Sherwin Williams paint store. There is also a Panera Bread restaurant on Beaver Avenue. The restaurants offer a complete assortment of pastries, bagels, sandwiches, soups, “and we just started offering pasta,” says Gebhart.
“We have fresh-baked bread as well, all of it baked fresh every day.”
State College’s second Panera Bread is housed is a gleaming new facility, with special counter-tops equipped with electrical outlets for laptops. Says Gebhart, “They did a great job with construction. I think it’s beautiful.”
Panera Bread’s North Atherton St. location is open Monday through Saturday, 6:00 a.m. until 9:00 p.m. Sunday hours are from 7:00 a.m. until 8:00 p.m.
