Some parking and traffic changes are in effect through Sunday in State College and on the Penn State campus for the 50th Central Pennsylvania Festival of the Arts.
In the borough, one-hour and two-hour and ‘No Parking 2 a.m.-6 a.m.’ restrictions will not be enforced through 2 a.m. Monday.
Parking on any streets designated ‘Exhibitor Parking Only’ will not be permitted. Unauthorized vehicles will be ticketed and towed at the operators’ expense. South Allen Street from College Avenue to Fairmount Avenue and Fraser Street from Beaver Avenue to Fairmount Avenue are closed to thru traffic.
Visitors parking downtown are encouraged to use the parking garages at 200 W. Beaver Ave., 100 S. Fraser St. and 100 S. Pugh St. A fee of $2.25 per hour or $32 per day maximum is in effect through the festival.
On the University Park campus Burrowes Road is closed from College Avenue to Curtin Road, and Pollock Road is closed from Burrowes Road to Willard Building through Sunday. All CATA bus stops on Burrowes Road will be closed from College Avenue to Curtin Road during that time. Campus Shuttle stops 9 (Reber Building), 10 (IST/Hosler) and 11 (Rec Hall) will be closed Thursday and Friday (shuttle does not operate on weekend). The closest available Campus Shuttle stops will be stop 8 (College Avenue/Allen Street) and stop 12 (Pattee Library).
Single-day event parking will be available for $5 (no charge with Penn State permit) at Lot 44 and Stadium West each day, with no-fare transportation to and from the festival area available on CATA’s Blue Loop service. It will also be available at all four campus parking decks and Lot Red A on Saturday and Sunday. Weekend parking permits valid through Sunday at the parking decks and Red A are also available on Thursday for $35 and Friday for $30 at the following locations and times:
Thursday:
– East Deck, HUB Deck and Nittany Deck exit kiosk (7:30 a.m. – midnight)
– Parking Office at 1 Eisenhower Parking Deck (7:30 a.m. – 5 p.m.)
– Red A kiosk at White Course Drive (7:30 a.m. – 3:30 p.m.)
Friday:
– East Deck, HUB Deck and Nittany Deck entrance kiosk (7:30 a.m. – midnight)
– Red A kiosk at White Course Drive (7:30 a.m. – midnight)
– Eisenhower Parking Deck entrance (noon – midnight)
