Penn State Basketball: 6-10 Germantown Academy Center Chooses Nittany Lions

A few weeks after working out in front of Penn State’s coaching staff at the Nittany Lions’ elite basketball camp, 6-foot-10, 236-pound center Julian Moore from Germantown Academy near Philadelphia confirmed Friday night he has verbally committed to the program.

‘When I took a visit and attended the prospect camp,’ Moore said ‘I loved not only the school and the facilities, I really loved the coaches and the players on the team.’

‘They have a winning mentality, they are some of the hardest working players and they always keep a positive attitude. I loved coach Chambers positive mentality and his energy as a coach.’

‘As I found out more about the school itself, I learned that it was an incredible academic school and had an amazing engineering program. When my family and I sat down, we decided it was the perfect fit for me.’

Moore, a member of the 2013 recruiting class, will take the place of recently decommitted Imhotep Charter forward Brandon Austin, who backed out of his commitment earlier this week. 

Penn State’s 2013 class consists of two players. Shaler High School guard Geno Thorpe verbally committed to the Nittany Lions in November.
