An impressive crowd turned out Saturday to see the Penn State men’s basketball team topple the No. 15-ranked Wisconsin Badgers. The final score at the Bryce Jordan Center: 56-52.
The crowd of 14,292 was the largest in two years for a men’s game at the Jordan Center, according to GoPSUsports.com. The game also marked the first time in program history that the Nittany Lions have defeated three ranked foes on their home court in one season, according to the website.
Headlines across the Internet are heralding the Penn State win. ‘Starting to believe: PSU helps tourney cause with upset,’ reads the news in the Altoona Mirror.
In Milwaukee, the Journal Sentinel declares: ‘Badgers get outshot, out-rebounded, out-hustled.’
The Pittsburgh Post-Gazette and the Patriot-News also have reports from the game.
