Penn State basketball’s dramatic week impressed at least a few voters this week as the Nittany Lions picked up six points in the AP Top 25 poll.
The news comes less than 24 hours after Penn State fell by just three points on the road to No.9 Purdue and a few days after knocking off then No.8 ranked Ohio State.
The Nittany Lions will host No.17 Michigan on Wednesday night as Penn State looks to sneak into the NCAA Tournament. The regular season will conclude on the road at Nebraska before the Big Ten Tournament begins. Penn State is currently in sixth place in the conference standings.
NCAA.com also ranked Penn State at No.22 in the latest edition of its Power 36 ranking. The Nittany Lions’ RPI is ranked 77th, and KenPom as well as the ESPN BPI, rates Penn State as the 25th best team in the nation.
