Penn State will be making another trip to an NFL stadium. The university announced Monday that the Nittany Lions will play Maryland at M&T Bank Stadium in Baltimore. That game is set for Oct. 24, 2015.
Both programs will be meeting in Maryland for the first time since an Oct. 2, 1993 when the two teams clashed at Byrd Stadium in College Park. The Terrapins will visit Beaver Stadium on Nov. 1, 2014.
Penn State and Maryland have met 37 times, with their first game in 1917 and the most recent contest having been played in 1993. From 1960-93, the Nittany Lions and Terps played every year except 1976, ‘81 and ‘83. Penn State is 35-1-1 against the Terrapins all-time.
In concert with Monday’s announcement the Big Ten also released the full 2015 conference slate which can be viewed below. Penn State will play the first of two games in an NFL stadium on September 5 when the Nittany Lions take on Temple at Lincoln Financial Field in Philadelphia.
Penn State opens the 2013 season against Syracuse at MetLife Stadium on August 31.
