Former Nittany Lion tight end Jesse James has signed a four-year contract with the Pittsburgh Steelers according to multiple reports.

James was selected in the fifth-round of this year’s NFL Draft. The terms of James’ contract are unknown at this time. While at Penn State, James caught 78 passes for 1,005 yards and 11 touchdowns.

The good news for the former Nittany Lion, he was the fifth of eight Steeler draft choices to sign a contract, likely an indication of having made positive strides in his game during rookie camp.

Fellow Penn State alum and Bears safety Adrian Amos signed a similar deal earlier this month. His contract also is slated for four-years and around $2.5 million over that span not including a signing bonus.

Penn State fans will still have to await the fates of other NFL hopeful Nittany Lions. Former left tackle Donovan Smith is the only drafted Penn State player for this year’s haul yet to sign a deal. Smith was the second pick in the second round, landing in Tampa Bay with No. 1 overall pick Jameis Winston.
