Penn State will enter Big Ten play ranked at the No. 10 and No. 9 spots in the AP and Coaches Poll, respectively. Both polls were released on Sunday afternoon.
The Nittany Lions are actually tied with Washington in the AP Poll at No. 10. Penn State beat the Huskies in the Fiesta Bowl to close out last season.
The changes are fairly minor in the rankings, with Penn State moving up one spot in each poll from where they were the previous week. Auburn and Wisconsin were the only Top 10 teams to lose on Saturday, both games coming down to the buzzer.
Across the Big Ten the conference is led by No. 4 Ohio State. Additionally three other conference foes are ranked with No. 18 Wisconsin, No. 19 Michigan, and No. 24 Michigan State rounding out the Top 25. Iowa is the first team in the ‘receiving’ votes category.
Penn State heads to Illinois this week for a Friday meeting before hosting Ohio State at Beaver Stadium for a pivotal showdown on the conference and national stages.
