Penn State football moved up three spots to No. 14 in the newest Associated Press Top 25 poll released Sunday afternoon.

The Nittany Lions picked up a 30-24 victory over Iowa at Beaver Stadium on Saturday. It was the team’s first victory at home in over a month — a 63-10 thrashing of Kent State on September 15 was its most recent win in Happy Valley before Saturday’s effort.

James Franklin’s program earned a season-high ranking of No. 8 in the week 7 poll and is working its way up from a season-low No. 18 ranking earned after a loss to Michigan State.

In addition to its new ranking in the AP Top 25 poll, Penn State moved up three spots to No. 13 in the Coaches’ Poll. The College Football Playoff committee will unveil its first top 25 rankings of the 2018 season on Tuesday.

No. 14 Penn State will put its new ranking to the test against No. 5 Michigan at 3:45 p.m. Saturday in Ann Arbor.
