Penn State and Temple are set to renew their football series, with two games among several non-conference contests the Nittany Lions have set from 2021-27.
Penn State welcomes two more regional foes to Beaver Stadium in upcoming seasons. Villanova visits State College on Sept. 25, 2021 and Sept. 13, 2025 and Delaware travels to Happy Valley on Sept. 9, 2023 and Sept. 11, 2027. The Nittany Lions lead the series with the Wildcats, 5-3-1, with the teams last playing in 1951. Penn State and Delaware will be meeting for the first time.
Delaware has played in four FCS National Championship games, winning the 2003 title. Villanova won the 2009 FCS national title.
Penn State hosts Central Michigan on Sept. 24, 2022 in the second meeting between the schools. The Nittany Lions won the only previous contest in 2005.
With today’s announcement, Penn State’s 2021 schedule is complete. The Nittany Lions open the 2021 season at Wisconsin (Sept. 4), and host Ball State (Sept. 11), Auburn (Sept. 18) and Villanova (Sept. 25) during non-conference play, resuming Big Ten action at Iowa Oct. 9. In addition, Penn State is slated to play Auburn, Virginia Tech and West Virginia both home and away in the coming years.
