For as impressive as now sophomore Saquon Barkley’s freshman campaign was, there is at least one often forgotten fact.
He has yet to go through winter and spring workouts with the team. So as the star Nittany Lion hits the books this fall he will also be hitting the weight room for weeks of strength and conditioning that can only help take that next step towards becoming one of the truly elite running backs in all of college football.
Case in point, a video posted by the strength and conditioning team showing Barkley power cleaning 365 pounds with relative ease.
With a new quarterback and a new offensive coordinator in town this season, it will most likely be Barkley carrying to load for the foreseeable future.
And it looks like he’s well on his way towards being able to do just that.
