A couple days after it began in Pittsburgh, the Special Olympics Torch Run ended Thursday in Centre County.
Law-enforcement officers from across the Centre Region ran with the torch through Ferguson Township, State College borough and the Penn State University Park campus, completing the flame’s final legs en route to the Special Olympics Pennsylvania Summer Games.
Opening ceremonies for the games — which continue through this weekend — were held Thursday evening at Medlar Field at Lubrano Park.
