“The suspect in the armed robbery that occurred on Saturday, 6/8/2013 at Orchard Park has been identified and is no longer a threat to public safety.”

An armed robber who struck in broad daylight at a popular State College park is now the target of a police manhunt.
State College police say the man was armed with a 10 to 12-inch long knife when he robbed an unidentified victim at Orchard Park on Bayberry Drive. It happened around 5:50 p.m. Saturday.
Investigators say the victim was at the basketball court when the robbery took place. The suspect reportedly used force to take property from the victim. It’s unclear what was stolen. There is no indication that the victim was injured.
The suspect is described as an African-American man, 20 to 30-years-old, about six-feet tall with a thin build. He was dressed in a black windbreaker, a black beanie hat and khaki pants.
The robber was last seen walking toward the park’s restroom area. No other information has been released.
