State College police want the public’s help as they investigate the case of an abandoned beagle, authorities announced Friday.

The beagle was abandoned about 2 p.m. Wednesday on the 800 block of West Branch Road, police said in a news release. A white Dodge Ram pickup truck stopped along the roadway, and its driver left the dog behind, according to the release.

Police are asking anyone with information to call them at (814) 234-7150 or to send anonymous tips through the borough website.
