In an update on Thursday, State College police said they are aware of the potential involvement of Penn State student-athletes in a large fight last weekend that resulted in several fraternity members being taken to the hospital.
Police have obtained video of the incident, which is being reviewed as part of the investigation.
‘Police are aware of the potential of Penn State student-athletes, in addition to Greek life members, being involved in this incident,’ the update said. ‘University Athletics and Compliance officials are assisting with identifying involved parties.’
Suspects’ names will be released upon filing of any criminal charges, according to the statement. Police said the investigation is ongoing and they will not release further information at this time.
At about 2 a.m. on Sunday, police responded to Delta Chi fraternity, 424 E. Fairmount Ave., where a group of males had approached the house and began to fight fraternity members, according to a news release.
Four fraternity members were treated for injuries at Mount Nittany Medical Center and released.
On Monday, State College police sent a news release seeking video or any other further information on the incident.
