Original story

U.S. Rep. Glenn Thompson, R-Howard Township, will take part in a town hall hosted by WPSU.

The event, titled ‘The People’s Business: A Town Hall with Congressman Glenn Thompson,’ will be held from 8 to 9 p.m. on Thursday, Aug. 10 in the WPSU studio at innovation park. The town hall will be open to 100 residents of Pennsylvania’s 5th Congressional District, which includes all of Centre County, and those who wish to be in the studio audience can register here

“I am grateful to WPSU for inviting me to participate in this event, and I look forward to an open, respectful dialogue about the most important issues facing our country” Thompson said in a statement. “I strive to be accessible and have met with thousands of constituents over the past year. I want to continue that trend and this venue will provide an opportunity to reach the greatest amount of people via TV, radio and online.”

The town hall will air live on WPSU-TV and WPSU-FM and will be live streamed at wpsu.org/live and on Facebook.

Questions will be taken from the studio audience and can also be submitted in advance until 9 p.m. on Tuesday, Aug. 8 at wpsu.org/townhall or on Facebook. Only WPSU will have access to advance questions, according to the station.

WPSU Penn State Producer and Director Cheraine Stanford will moderate the town hall.
