With improving weather comes a flurry of construction activity. Construction crews are now beginning work on a number of road projects in Ferguson Township.
The Ferguson Township Board of Supervisors authorized summer construction earlier this month.
Parts of Aaron Drive, Cherry Lane, Allen Street and Bristol Avenue in Ferguson Township will be milled. Starting on June 3, Old Gatesburg Road will be getting a new drainage system.
Additionally, new video detectors will be installed at Bristol Avenue. The detectors are used to monitor traffic patterns at intersections and help regulate stop lights. This new equipment is supposed to sync-up the timing of red lights and improve traffic flow.
They’ll also be replacing some of the curb along Aaron Drive and parts of Allen Street. Columbia Gas will begin replacement of the gas line on Cherry Lane in advance of the paving project.
According to Ferguson Township Engineer Ronald Seybert, the work will be completed on or before August 28.
