Little physical evidence has surfaced in the Jerry Sandusky child sex abuse case less than a week before the former Penn State assistant football coach is to stand trial.
But ABC News reported Tuesday that intimate love letters Sandusky hand-wrote to at least one of the alleged victims will be read into testimony on Monday, when the trial kicks off.
One such letter was addressed to alleged victim No. 4, who is expected to take the stand first, his attorney said, and it will corroborate the man’s testimony, according to the report.
Ben Andreozzi, the Harrisburg-based lawyer representing the man now in his late 20s, could not confirm the ABC News story, which cited unnamed sources, but did say he was aware of letters.
Sandusky is accused of sexually abusing 10 boys over a 15-year period. Tuesday, nine jurors were selected to hear his case.
The court expects jury selection to conclude Wednesday. But Judge John Cleland has said the trial will start no sooner than Monday.
