Emergency responders from throughout Centre County joined together on Thursday, May 30, for a triennial full-scale emergency response exercise at State College Regional Airport.

Local police and fire departments, emergency medical services, airport traffic control tower personnel, the Aircraft Rescue and Fire Fighting crew and other university, local, state, federal and community agencies participated in the drill. The airport remained open under its normal operating schedule during the exercise.

The Federal Aviation Administration requires airports to conduct a full-scale emergency exercise every three years.

139Fire, which specializes in FAA-compliant trainings for airport rescue and fire fighting, was also on-site throughout the week to lead multiple live-fire trainings.
