State College Borough Public Works is extending fall leaf collection by another week.
Crews will continue collecting leaf piles through Friday, Dec. 28.
Fall leaf collection typically takes place once a week from mid-September to early December, but was previously extended to this week because of a late leaf drop and the early snow.
Residents are asked to leaves between the curb and sidewalk, not in the street or curbline. If piles were placed before rain and snow and are now flattened or frozen, crews ask that they be fluffed and re-piled to expedite cleanup.
‘Your assistance in collecting this year’s late leaf drop will help the entire community as we enter snow season by keeping leaves out of the street and enabling crews to plow to the curb,’ a news release said.
