State College police continue to investigate eight burglaries discovered on New Year’s Eve.

A FedEx deliveryman reported finding the doors open at two different apartments in the 300 block of West Nittany Avenue.

Six other burglaries were reported at an apartment building in the 300 block of Locust Lane.

Stolen items included TVs, gaming systems, cash and video games.

Police say such burglaries are common when Penn State students are away for break. Similar incidents were reported in November over the Thanksgiving break.
