The route for the State College Area High School Homecoming Parade will close to regular traffic at 5:45 p.m. Wednesday, the borough announced. It’s expected to be closed until 7:30 p.m.
Following tradition, the parade will start at the high school, on the 600 block of Westerly Parkway, and travel east on the parkway to Allen Street, north on Allen to Nittany Avenue and west on Nittany to Fraser Street.
In addition, South Fraser Street between Fairmount and Foster avenues will be closed for the parade, along with the 100 and 200 blocks of West Nittany Avenue, according to the borough.
A pep rally will be held at Memorial Field after the parade. Streets adjacent to the field will be closed at that point.
‘Motorists traveling in the area of South Atherton Street and Westerly Parkway may experience delays,’ the borough announcement reads. ‘Avoid travel in this area if possible.’
