Two Democratic candidates for statewide offices are scheduled to speak Tuesday evening at a State College borough Democratic fundraiser, the borough Democratic Committee announced.
Those candidates are former Philadelphia prosecutor Dan McCaffery, who is seeking the party nomination for the 2012 attorney-general race, and state Rep. Eugene DePasquale, who is seeking the nomination for the 2012 auditor-general race, according to a news release.
‘We are honored to host two leading candidates for Democratic nominations in 2012,’ borough Democratic Committee Chairwoman Elaine Prestia said in the release. ‘Their desire to come to our event recognizes the importance of State College borough in statewide elections.’
Other speakers at the fundraiser are expected to include Democratic candidates for Borough Council, the State College Area School District board, and Centre County offices.
The event, open to Democrats, will be held at the Ramada Inn, 1450 S. Atherton St. Doors will open at 5:30 p.m. The admission charge is $24 apiece; food will be provided.
McCaffery also is scheduled to appear at a Penn State College Democrats event on Tuesday afternoon.
