United Airlines is adding a nonstop flight between Madison, Wisconsin, and State College for Penn State’s home football game against Wisconsin in September, giving Badgers fans a direct travel option for one of the season’s marquee Big Ten matchups.
The airline will operate a flight from Dane County Regional Airport to State College Regional Airport on Friday, Sept. 25, ahead of the game on Saturday, Sept. 26, according to a news release. A return flight from State College to Madison is scheduled for Sunday, Sept. 27.
As of Monday afternoon, round-trip fares for the special flights started at $433 for economy, $668 for Economy Plus and $728 for United First. Tickets are available through United’s website.
The Wisconsin-Penn State route is one of 14 special round-trip flights United has added this season to accommodate fans traveling to major college football games around the country.
“As fans get ready to cheer on their favorite teams this fall, we’re adding flights across the country to college football’s biggest matchups,” Michael Weeks, United’s managing director of domestic schedule development, said in a statement. “From action packed games to historic rivalries — these are the moments fans look forward to, and we’re thrilled to help them get there.”
United also said it is expanding access to Starlink inflight Wi-Fi, which is now available on 450 of the airline’s aircraft. The service is free for MileagePlus members and allows passengers to stream games and follow scores while in the air.
