Viewings, Memorial Service for Joe Paterno Announced, to Be Held at Penn State

Initial report, posted @ 1:01 p.m. Jan. 23:

Public viewings for Joe Paterno are scheduled for 1 to 11 p.m. Tuesday and 8 a.m. to noon Wednesday at the Pasquerilla Spiritual Center, on the University Park campus, Penn State announced Monday.

A private family funeral service is scheduled for 2 p.m. Wednesday. A public memorial service is scheduled for 2 p.m. Thursday at the Bryce Jordan Center.

Paterno, 85, died Sunday morning. His family has asked that, in lieu of flowers or gifts, donations be made to the Special Olympics of Pennsylvania or the Penn State Interfraternity Council/Panhellenic Dance Marathon.
