Friday, Sept. 27

Movies

Why not take the kids to a movie this weekend, or relive your own childhood, by going to see “Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs 2.” The movie is playing at College 9 Theatre and UEC 12 Theatre.

Bars and Clubs

At the Autoport, Megan Combs will perform at 9 p.m. Martini’s will also be $5.50 until midnight.

At Otto’s Pub & Brewery, Miss Melanie and the Valley Rats will perform at 9 p.m. There will also be $2 off growler fills from 4:30 p.m. to 6 p.m. and $2 off cocktails from 9 p.m. to 11 p.m.

At The Saloon, Velveeta will perform and Bacardi Oakheart Pitchers will be $7.

Saturday, Sept. 28

“August: Osage County” will close out the State College Community Theatre’s summer season. In this dark exposition of a Midwestern family, the large Weston clan reunites after the father of the family disappears. Add in a pill-popping mother and three sisters harboring secrets, you have the winner of five 2008 Tony Awards including Best Play. It will be showing at 7:30 p.m. in the Mount Nittany Middle School Auditorium. 

Sunday, Sept. 29

Viva Vivaldi! is the PA Centre Orchestra’s season opener this year. With the music of Vivaldi,Mozart, Haydn, and Puccini, soprano soloist Sarah Shafer and violin soloist Hannah Lin are sure to amaze. The concert will be at 3 p.m. at Esber Music Hall on campus.
