Movies

In ‘Killing Them Softly,’ Brad Pitt stars as Jackie Cogan, an enforcer hired to restore order after three dumb guys rob a Mob protected card game, causing the local criminal economy to collapse.

Saturday, Dec. 1

Catch Les Miserables as put on by the Bald Eagle Area Drama Club!  The performance starts at 7:30 p.m. at Bald Eagle Area Middle/High School. Get complete information here. 

Take the plunge! The YMCA of Centre County’s Plunge, that is. The Plunge is an event held by the YMCA of Centre County, the first Saturday in December, where participants enter into the water at Sayers Dam, at the Bald Eagle State Park, despite the frigid temperature. The plunge is held to raise money for the YMCA of Centre County’s Open Door program which allows the Y to turn no one away for their inability to pay. This year the YMCA will be celebrating its 10 year anniversary of the Plunge.

Awards will be given out and raffles drawn for prizes. Get registration and complete information here. 

The Elf on the Shelf Storytime and Adopt-an-Elf Event comes to Barnes and Noble at 11 a.m. The event will include a reading of The Elf on the Shelf book, activities and holiday treats. We will also be inviting elf-less families to adopt an elf of their own!
