Movies
See Tom Hanks portray the real life Captain Richard Phillips as his boat is attacked by Somali pirates in “Captain Phillips.” The movie is playing at College 9 Theatre and UEC 12 Theatre.
Bars and Clubs
At Inferno, Bacardi Oakheart Pitchers are $7 and DJ Fuego will be performing at 10 p.m.
At the Lion’s Den, mixed drinks and shots will be half-price from 10 p.m. until 12 a.m.
At the Saloon, Velveeta with John and Chad will perform. Bacardi Oakheart pitchers will also be $7.
Saturday, Oct. 12
For those not going to see Penn State play Michigan Saturday, head out to Wasson Farm for the Wasson Farm Fall Fest. The main event is a hayride to the pumpkin patch where people can pick their own pumpkins $5.00 per person. They will also be selling homemade soups and apple butter. The event starts at 11 a.m. Wasson Farm is located 2545 Shingletown Rd.
Sunday, Oct. 13
Penn State’s Arboretum will be holding a pumpkin festival at 1 p.m. Sunday as well as Monday. Pumpkins will be given to the first 750 to enter the jack-o’-lantern competition.The first 100 people to return jack-o’-lanterns later in the week will get a gift certificate for one free ice cream cone at the Berkey Creamery.
