West Fairmount Avenue near South Atherton Street is expected to remain closed for about two more weeks, according to the State College Department of Public Works.
On July 12, the borough shut down the 200 and 300 blocks of West Fairmount for construction. A contractor has been working there to replace utility equipment and reconstruct the street.
The road work had been expected to be complete Thursday, according to a posting on the borough website. But the public-works department indicated Thursday afternoon that work is now expected to last until early September. Crews have yet to finish paving there, the borough noted.
StateCollege.com will post updates and more details as they’re available.
