One person died and another was seriously injured in a single-vehicle motorcycle crash on Saturday in Centre County, according to state police at Rockview.
The crash happened at about 9:20 p.m. on Route 150/North Eagle Valley Road, just before the intersection with Curtin Hollow Road in Boggs Township.
The driver of a 2005 Harley Davidson Road King and 49-year-old passenger Barbara S. Frigo, of Blanchard, were traveling north when the motorcycle “locked its brakes for an unknown reason,” and crossed into the opposite lane, state police wrote in a crash report on Tuesday. The motorcycle then overturned and slid on its side for a short distance.
Frigo was flown by helicopter to Geisinger Medical Center in Danville, where she died on Sunday from injuries sustained in the crash. She was a corrections officer at the Centre County Correctional Facility since 2017, according to her obituary.
The driver, a 52-year-old Blanchard man, also was flown to Danville to be treated for serious injuries.
A charge of homicide by vehicle while driving under the influence is pending investigation, according to police.
Mount Nittany Medical Center EMS, Pleasant Gap Fire and EMS, Bellefonte EMS, Milesburg Fire Company and Howard Fire Company assisted at the scene.
