Woman Killed in Crash Near Bellefonte I-80 Interchange

A 75-year-old woman died after a two-vehicle crash late Friday afternoon near the Bellefonte interchange of Interstate 80, according to Spring Township police.

A Ford F-350 truck towing a camper was traveling southbound on Jacksonville Road at about 5:05 p.m. when it collided with a Jaguar station wagon that turned left in front of it at the I-80 exit 161 eastbound off-ramp, police wrote in a Facebook post on Friday night.

The woman, who was a passenger in the Jaguar, sustained fatal injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene by the Centre County Coroner’s Office. Her name has not yet been disclosed.

The driver of the Jaguar suffered moderate injuries and was taken to Mount Nittany Medical Center for treatment, police wrote. The driver of the F-350 was not injured.

The crash remains under investigation.

Bellefonte and Pleasant Gap Fire Company EMS, Logan and Undine fire companies and Milesburg, Howard and Walker Township fire police were dispatched to the scene

The I-80 exits at Bellefonte and I-99 from Zion to the I-80 interchange were closed for about two hours.
